OTEPI attends the Industrial Fair in Asturias, Spain

OTEPI attended the first Asturias Metal Industry Forum, an event organized by commercial authorities and industry of the Asturias Principality, so as to facilitate the contacts between its firms and potential clients from several continents.

With the purpose of presenting, on a domestic and international level, the potential of the Asturias metallurgy field, OTEPI was invited to a one-day forum where on the agenda were personal interviews with the firms that lead the Engineering and Construction fields in the region.

Henry Quiroz, business development manager, participated in this activity, which aligns with the internationalization process OTEPI is set on as part of its 2010 FUTURE PLAN.

Our Systems Interns graduate

Last May 20th, OTEPI’s installations served as back-drop for the academic defense of their grade theses, marking the beginning of this new stage in the lives of these young men and women.

The information systems management, on behalf of OTEPI, held a meeting in recognition of the stage II software development interns, acknowledging their excellent performance, disposition to service, skill in the use of the tools and commitment to the goals set during their internship in the firm.

It was the perfect occasion to thank the tutors for the support they gave us in the academic leadership of the interns, and for having accepted to hold the process of academic defense of the theses on the OTEPI site, which permitted the strengthening of the alliance we have with the universities.

The interns complied with their last requirement to graduate as systems engineers, and got the highest grade. The systems management wishes them the greatest of success as professionals, and invites them to always keep present the values of ethics, commitment, quality and excellence that characterize OTEPI.

OTEPI strengthens its commercial relations during the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston

Faithful to our annual date, OTEPI was present in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) held in the Reliant Center of the city of Houston, Texas, between the 5th and 8th of May of this year.

The event proved that it is a must-do gathering of the oil sector and its related industries, garnering a record showing of more than 75,000 professionals from 110 countries.

OTEPI’s office in Houston, a city considered a hub of the world’s oil sector, is in the process of marked growth, and the event has served as the framework for spending some time with our present clients and for contacting firms, both American and foreign, that might be interested in the services our firm offers from its different centers.

Coinciding with the week of the Conference, OTEPI sponsored a golf tournament organized by our client CITGO in Lake Charles.
The event was a complete success, and allowed all participants to get together in a relaxed and casual way.

Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is the most important event for the development of offshore resources in the extraction, operations, production and environmental protection fields. The OTC is held annually in the Reliant Center, in Houston.

Eye-Care Day and 1st Nutrition and Health Cycle

The health of our personnel is of primary importance to OTEPI, so from May 25th to mid-July, several activities have been planned for the firm’s employees, including eye-care day and the 1st nutrition and health cycle.

During eye-care day, one well-known firm dedicated to this service offered a completely free ophthalmological medical evaluation at OTEPI’s installations, including a computerized examination, a visual keenness examination, an evaluation of the ocular appendages and refractive errors, an ophthalmoscopic examination and controlling of intra-ocular pressure. Also, the employees and their families had special discounts on contact lenses and glasses.

Meanwhile, the 1st nutrition and health cycle consisted of five conferences given at the Caracas site by nutritionist Luis Mosqueda, with one theme taken up each night: nutritional habits, arterial hypertension, diets and obesity, lipemia and diabetes.

“In OTEPI, we’re always looking for a chance to give our staff the greatest of benefits possible, and we think there’s none greater than giving the employee the opportunity to better his health,” says Dotty Mendoza, the chief of benefits.
