Description:
The scope of the project covers the execution of Basic and Detail Engineering of the Electricity System of CVG VENALUM's Line IV, as follows:
I. TRANSMISSION LINES (BASIC AND DETAIL ENGINEERING)
Planning study for the network, conductors and guard cables. Routing study, location of pylon structures. Mechanical calculation of conductors and tension tables. Technical specifications of insulators, fittings and accesories. Design of metallic support structures, tower foundation design, grounding.
II. ELECTRICITY SYSTEM OF THE COAL AND CASTING PLANT, AND OTHER SERVICES
Substations location study, drainage system, building of substations
Substation auxiliary services, switchgear and CCM's. Communications system, grounding, study of bedplates, tanks and tray (14) routing. Supplying energy to substation compressors, wiring, load study.
III. PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION PACKETS (GENERAL DOCUMENTS)
Detail engineering, materials supply, construction of civil works, electromechanical assembly and commissioning, authorization for the startup of the Guasquitas-Panama 2 230 Kv transmission line. 394 km double-circuit three-phase alternate current line, with , 1091 metallic structures and 33 galvanized steel pylons.

Work corresponding to the Tocoma project has been in process since October 1999, as complementary activities to the Caruachi project.
Basic engineering support for the development of bidding plans in the disciplines of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, covering all areas of the dam.
Studies have also been carried out in different decision-making areas such as:
* Dam Geometry
* Maximum level of the reservoir
* Impact of the hydroelectric plant complex on the lower Caroni
Detail Engineering of the Powerhouse, comprising 6 Monoliths that will house 12 generating units with Kaplan-type Turbines (2 for each Monolith). Also included, Service Rooms and a 60-meter Assembly Room. The Powerhouse is 25.65 m wide and the Transformer platform will be situated 64.50 m above sea level with a width of 32.15 m

Description:
Includes review of the BE supplied by CORPOVEN, detail engineering of SF6 insulated substation, procurement of materials and equipment, construction of civil works and electromechanical assembly, tests and trials during operation and technical assistance during startup of the Substation. Technical evaluation and Inspection of the equipment supplied by CORPOVEN. The project was executed together with Sadeven. As General Contractor, OTEPI is totally responsible for the EPC. Sadeven acts as construction subcontractor.
