Capacity expansion of the catalytic reformer unit (U-1300) of the Barrancabermeja Refinery Aromatics Plant

Description:
Procurement, construction and electromechanical assembly for the expansion of the Refinery's unit over 260 days, including a plant shut-down of 60 days and commissioning. This work has increased the plant's capacity from 9,000 to 120,000 BPD. Work included the installation of 6 transformation ovens, a group of pumps and heat interchangers, as well as the total refurbushment of the instrumentation, a centralized control system and a control system against emergency power failures.

Development of conceptual, basic and detail engineering, purchasing administration, technical assistance and auditing, as well as the subcontracting of specialized work and specialized consultancy for the development of the investment projects for the Barrancabermeja Complex Management belonging to the State Colombian Oil Company Ecopetrol. This included the execution of 60 work orders distributed among 30 projects, technical support, management of projects and subcontracts aimed at modifying and updating different process, refining and petrochemical areas.
Expansion of the primary and vacuum distillation unit at the Talara Refinery

BASIC, CONCEPTUAL AND DETAIL ENGINEERING FOR PDV SERVICE STATIONS NETWORK
PROCUREMENT SUPPORT: Any technical assistance necessary for acquiring equipment and materials for the facilities of the Service Station Project.
CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT: Technical assistance in bidding, contracting, supervising, inspecting, planning, coordinating, administrating and managing the construction, installation and assembly of the service station works.

Professional conceptual and basic engineering services for the definition and development phase of the projects

Execution of conceptual and basic engineering projects for projects that are in their definition and development phase, years 2001-2002. This project was executed for the three following different managements: Protection Automation Projects (PAP), Projects for the Venezuelan Distribution Organization (ODV) and Technical Support Projects, for which engineering and technical assistance was provided by professionals and technicians. Detailed engineering, provision of all required materials, assembly, testing and start-up of the new instrumentation system of the crude plants and TAE1 Tower in order to integrate it with the EDS emergency shutdown systems to be installed by ECOPETROL in the SIH-1 instrument satellite room and the Central Control Building (CCB).
As part of the modernization of the Aromatics Plant at the Barrancabermeja Refinery, a consultancy was provided for all the Detail Engineering for the construction, assembly and startup of all works executed to improve the recovery factor of the Calalytic Reformer at the Barrancabermeja Aromatic Catalytic Plant ECP, as well as supervision of the purchasing of new plant equipment.
Extension of the Viscoreduction plant at the Cartagena refinery

Modernization and tecnological updating of the viscoreduction unit, incorporating soaker visbreaking technology. Upgrading of the facilities: incorporation and substitution of equipment, replacement of pneumatic instrumentation with automation of the facilities, review, completion and integration of basic and detail engineering, issuing of construction engineering, procurement of materials and permanent equipment.
Instrumentation and electricity works, pipeline works, preparation of systems, startup assistance, detail design of the furnace and auxiliary equipment, design to convert pneumatic to electronic instrumentation, detail design pathology to modify equipment.
OTEPI-Foster Wheeler personnel together with the Sincor team carried out all Management and Supervicion activities for the Zuata (San Diego de Cabrutica) surface facilities construction project and for the Jose Upgrader in order to produce 210,000 BSPD of extra-heavy crude with 8.5 API.

Pipeline design using the PDS tool in areas of mud handling and furnaces, support for smaller diameter pipelines and steam-tracing system for the entire plant. Design of a materials handling system and of the Line 9 tunnel to pass the coke conveyor from the SINCOR plant to TT-102 (with others), including: site preparation, conveyor drainage, location of TT-102 and TT-103, conveyor C-104, electricity supply and associated instrumentation, air for instruments.

The work carried out consisted in Detail Engineering, Procurement Assistance and Construction Management of a Styrene-Butadiene Latex Plant for Dow Chemical in El Tablazo. The Plant includes several Latex polymerization and emulsion preparation reactors, storage tanks for raw materials and products, heat transfer equipment, pipelines, instrumentation, storage warehouses and general services.
Scope of the work includes the development of BE and DE for 180 DELTAVEN service stations throughout the country. It includes the disciplines of: Architecture, Structures, Toilet Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical and also the processing of permits with the competent organizations, such as the MEM, Environment, Fire Brigade, etc., Cost Estimates, preparation of construction packages and the technical analysis of the offers.
GNV management and support in the bidding process for phase ii of the GNV project
